MY STORY
Rachel Forehand’s music resonates from an intense southern rock background. Her sound is eclectic and full of autenticity that is inspired by a variety of genres. She feels the music in her soul and aims to give her audience a true experience, one they can enjoy and feel. This Macon, Georgia born and bred musician/singer/songwriter composes music inspired by the likes of the Allman Brothers Band, Janis Joplin, Johnny Cash, JJ Grey & Mofro, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
Growing up, her father, Dwayne Forehand played guitar for over forty years and her drummer uncle, Keith Forehand, played in a band in the 80/90's called "The Lifters" -- a local favorite who opened up for The Allman Brothers several times.
Learning to play guitar at 18, Rachel began playing at local bars and restaurants in Statesboro, Ga before moving back home to Macon. While at college, she wrote several songs and released her first EP “Six Strings and Day Dreams” in July 2022. In 2023, she played at Macon, Georgia's International Cherry Blossom Festival, was apart of Macon's "Big Bird Bash" at the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom, and won a silver award from Channel 41nbc Viewers Choice awards for Local Band. She has also had several opportunities sharing the stage with Evan Barber, Little Lazy, Chase Wright, and Ben Chapman.
As Summer began she had the pleasure to be apart the Bragg Jam Concert Crawl in Macon, Ga on July 29th. Rachel was honored to be featured in a "Guitar Pull" at Capricorn Studios, playing beside Any Johnson, Matt McMillian, and Jackson Tanner.
